ProjectFITT, also known as PFM Canberra, is located in Mitchell ACT and is dedicated to getting women fit and strong!
Our aim is to create a friendly and comfortable environment for you to train in, with like-minded women. Our trainers are committed to helping you reach your fitness goals - whether that's getting your fitness back, building strength, toning up, or just feeling like your best self.
Our classes offer options to suit all fitness levels and your first class is free!
For the Mums - doing our 'Mums and Bubs' classes are a great reason to get out of the house while on maternity leave, a place to meet other like-minded friendly Mums as well as do something for YOU, you will feel so much better for it. No need to worry about what you will do with bub because our Tuesday and Friday mid-morning sessions are dedicated to you, so you can bring bub along too!
WHAT ARE THE CLASSES LIKE?
Every class is different to keep it challenging and get the best results! We do a variety of workouts that include functional exercises, strength training, cardio, conditioning, HIIT, boxing and circuits – with options suitable for beginners to advanced.
We run three 'Mums and Bubs' sessions each week: 9:30 and 10:30am on Tuesdays & 9:30am on Fridays which is perfect for those returning to exercise again post-baby. We focus on going back to basics, engaging the correct muscles and strengthening up those areas left weak after giving birth as well as getting you feeling fitter and stronger.
If you're a busy working Mum or just prefer exercising child-free, then our morning or afternoon/evening classes might be perfect for you. We also have alternating Saturday and Sunday mornings down by the beautiful Lake Burley Griffin /National Library!
HOW BIG ARE THE CLASSES?
We pride ourselves on keeping the classes to a small-ish group so you can get the most out of each workout. Our classes are usually capped at approximately 15 ladies for a standard class, and 10 for Mums and Bubs sessions.
HOW LONG DO THE CLASSES GO FOR? All classes go for approximately one hour. Each include a warm-up, main workout and cool down/stretching.
HOW LONG AFTER HAVING MY BABY CAN I START THE 'MUMS AND BUBS' SESSIONS?
Physio advice is to wait until 12 weeks postpartum to join our group training classes, or once you have been given the all clear from your GP/women's health specialist to commence exercising again. However, if everything has gone well and you have been cleared to exercise again then you may start from as early as 6 weeks. Each individual's circumstance and recovery is different. We recommend you start pelvic floor exercises at home as soon as possible and see a womens health physio.
WHAT DOES MY BABY/TODDLER DO DURING MY WORKOUT?
During the classes babies/children can be in their pram alongside you or in the designated kids area/playpen. Our trainers will also be there to assist if needed, so you can focus on your workout. There are plenty of breaks given throughout so you can check on bub and attend to them as you need.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
We provide all of the equipment, however we ask that you do bring a gym towel and water bottle for your workout. You can also bring your own fitness mat if you wish, as well as anything you may need if you're bringing your child. Ensure you wear comfortable activewear and proper exercise sneakers.

The Gym Classes are located at 5 McEacharn Place, Mitchell
Alternating Saturday and Sundays are located outside at Commonwealth Place, Lake Burley Griffin (Sundays) and the National Library (Saturdays).
